Welcome to a delayed edition of my Chalk Talk. It was been a hectic two weeks for me; first getting prepared for the season opener and then a big road trip to Cincinnati which was sandwiched by my spring break from work. Spring break probably sounds like a relaxing time but with my first born child about two months away, the majority of my spring break time was spent cleaning, organizing, and constructing for his/her arrival.
I want to throw a big thanks out there to all the people that helped get the Hartmeyer ready for our home opener. There are way too many people to name but everyone who is a part of the Wolfpack organization had a hand in it as well as numerous other volunteers. I know Miami Valley had some adversity with their travel to the game but I highly doubt they encountered the adversity that our players did leading up to the opener. Think about this: as of Monday of the opening game the Hartmeyer was still a full fledged ice arena! We took down all the glass and melted the ice in order to get the field down for a Wednesday practice. Laying the field was easy but getting it straight was difficult. Thanks to the players for helping with that, along with their help putting up boards and signs and everything that goes along with putting on an indoor football game.
