Wolfpack lose in CIFL Championship Game, 54-40

Brandon Wogoman set new CIFL Championship Game records with 14 catches and 151 yards, but it wasn't enough as the Cincinnati Commandos defeated the Wisconsin Wolfpack in the 2010 CIFL Championship Game, 54-40.

Wolfpack Battle for CIFL Championship Saturday

The Wisconsin Wolfpack (9-2) and Cincinnati Commandos (10-1) look to settle some unfinished business in the Continental Indoor Football League championship game Saturday night at the Cincinnati Gardens at 7 p.m. CT. The teams split their regular season series wih each team winning at home against an opponent that wasn't at full strength.
In the first matchup in Cincinnati on April 10, a 48-26 Commandos victory, the Wolfpack had just lost starting quarterback Brian Ryczkowski for the season. Dan Roberts filled in and played well in his first indoor start. The Wolfpack were also without starting linebackers James Kamoku and Derek Brown and were thin in the defensive backfield as well.

Wolfpack Advance to CIFL Championship Game

The Wisconsin Wolfpack (9-2) held on to beat the Fort Wayne FireHawks (6-5) 25-24 in Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) playoff action Saturday night at the Hartmeyer Arena.
Former Wisconsin Badgers quarterback Matt Schabert had another stellar performance, passing for 107 yards and three touchdowns. Schabert rushed for 22 yards and another touchdown.
Marcus Lewis led all receivers with eight catches for 77 yards and two touchdowns.

Wolfpack Battle Fort Wayne in CIFL Playoffs Saturday

The Wisconsin Wolfpack (8-2) will host the Fort Wayne FireHawks (6-4) at the Hartmeyer Arena in Madison, Wis., in the first round of the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) playoffs on Saturday night. The game begins at 7 p.m. and doors open at 6 p.m.
The Wolfpack and FireHawks met twice during the regular season with the Wolfpack winning both games. The Wolfpack pitched the fifth shutout in the five-year history of the CIFL, and the first in the two-year history of the team, against the FireHawks in Fort Wayne on April 16, 49-0. It was the first game with the Wolfpack for former Wisconsin Badgers quarterback Matt Schabert.

Vote Wolfpack Players onto CIFL All-Pro Team

The Continental Indoor Football League is now accepting fan votes for the league's all-pro team . Several Wisconsin Wolfpack players have had a worthy season. On defense, defensive end Kurt Ware is among the league leaders in tackles, sacks, and tackles for loss. Josh Nettles and Quincy Hudson league the lead in passes defensed and Derek Brown has excelled at linebacker.
Meanwhile, on offense, quarterback Matt Schabert has put up great numbers in just a part of a season. Wide receivers Marcus Lewis and Marques Johnson are among the league leaders in nearly every receiving category. Adam Hite has had a very solid rookie campaign and, after a bit of a slow start, Eric Donoval showed dominance on the ground and was a force to be reckoned with in the passing game.

Johnson, Kamoku Named Players of the Week

Two Wisconsin Wolfpack players earned player of the week honors for their performance in week 11 of the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL). Wide receiver Marques Johnson was named offensive player of the week and former Badgers linebacker James Kamoku was named defensive player of the week.
Johnson hauled in five passes for 64 yards and four touchdowns in the Wolfpack's 45-21 win over the previously unbeaten Cincinnati Commandos. Johnson is among the league leaders in several receiving categories in the CIFL. He leads the league in average receiving yards per game with 48.4 and is second in the league in yards per catch (15.6), receptions (41) and reception yards (473).

Wolfpack End Commandos Bid for Perfection

The Wisconsin Wolfpack (8-2) ended the Cincinnati Commandos (9-1) bid for perfection, 45-21, in Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) action at the Hartmeyer Arena in Madison Saturday night.
Former Wisconsin Badgers quarterback Matt Schabert threw five touchdowns and rushed for another in the victory. Marques Johnson, who entered the game as the third leading receiver in the CIFL, caught five passes for 64 yards and four touchdowns.
On defense, former Badger Kurt Ware recorded 5-1/2 tackles and two sacks. He also recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown. Another former Badger, James Kamoku, led all tacklers with 13 including two for loss.

Schabert Named Week 10 Offensive Player of the Week

Wisconsin Wolfpack quarterback Matt Schabert was named the offensive player of the week in the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) for week 10 of the season.
Schabert completed 14 of 19 passes for 187 yards and five touchdowns in the 58-20 win over the Chicago Cardinals. Schabert also ran for 11 yards and a touchdown.
It was the second time this season Schabert was named player of the week. He also earned the honors in week eight, another win over the Cardinals. Schabert converted three drop kicks in the game and was named special teams player of the week.

Wolfpack Host Undefeated Commandos Saturday

The Wisconsin Wolfpack (7-2) battle the undefeated Cincinnati Commandos (9-0) at 7 p.m. Saturday night at the Hartmeyer Arena in Madison, Wis. in Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) action.
The Commandos are the top-rated offense in the CIFL, averaging nearly 52-1/2 points per game. The Wolfpack are second with 37-1/2 points per game. The Wolfpack own the top defense in the league, allowing just 24 points per game with Cincinnati right behind them giving up close to 28 points a game.
The Commandos are led by former University of Cincinnati star Ben Mauk. Mauk is the top-rated passer in the CIFL. He's thrown for 1,430 yards with 46 touchdowns and just 13 interceptions.

The Wisconsin Wolfpack clicked on all cylinders against the Chicago Cardinals at the Hartmeyer Arena in Madison Saturday night. Former Wisconsin Badgers quarterback Matt Schabert completed 14 of 19 passes for 187 yards and five touchdowns.
His favorite target was Marcus Lewis, who caught ten passes for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Eric Donoval added 50 total yards and three touchdowns.
Former Badgers Josh Nettles and Kurt Ware excelled on defense. Nettles had 4-1/2 tackles, two pass breakups and an interception. Ware recorded four tackles, including two tackles for loss and two sacks. He also recovered two fumbles. David Earl had an interception for the Wolfpack.
